About
Hi I am Briana.
Let me be honest. I have been blogging on and off for years. In that time a I took culinary classes, earned a master’s degree from NYU’s food studies program, traveled the world with my friends from college, worked in kitchens, sliced a million pie slices from working in a bakery, wrote articles for online publications, started a dinner parties series and somehow I squeeze in a date or two. This is not an excuse for my non-consistency. Time management is my real struggle. All in all, I feel really good about getting back to blogging in a way that feels right to me.
So here in my space on Al Gore’s internet, The Seasoning Bottle is a blog where I share recipes, talk about my dinner parties and write an article about my perspective on food. You will find good tips and tricks that will make cooking not only approachable but fun and enjoyable. The only unavoidable thing about cooking is—the dishes. Like it or not, if you want to become a better cook, you need to become one with the dishes and with the time old tradition of “cleaning as you go”. Other than that, come get reacquainted with me on my blog.
I would describe my cooking style as a mix between Southern and Caribbean. I grew up as a southern peach in Atlanta, GA and raised by a single (and very stern) Jamaican mother. I very much enjoy chicken and waffles for brunch and curry goat with rice and peas for dinner.
